James O’Keefe Strikes Again, Exposes Obamacare Navigators

If there’s one thing which gets James O’Keefe of Project Veritas up in the morning, it’s exposing corruption. The guy eats corruption like President Obama eats broccoli.

O’Keefe, the conservative activist best known for exposing the unethical goings-on at ACORN, Planned Parenthood, and NPR, has delivered another stunning exposé, this time focused squarely on Obamacare navigators.

What are Obamacare navigators? They are contractors who are supposed to help you wade through the miserable quagmire that is the new Obamacare exchange. When problems arise with the notoriously glitchy Obamacare website, Healthcare.gov (i.e. when, not if), Obamacare navigators will help you fill out a paper application over the phone and will submit it for you via Healthcare.gov (?).

So, what have the Obamacare navigators done that’s so bad? In their defense, they have done nothing more than help people navigate:

• Navigate around U.S. tax law to hide income when filing a return
• Navigate around health insurance regulations by lying about one’s smoker status to achieve a lower premium
• Navigate around the truth in general

Here’s how it went down: as James O’Keefe and team have done with their previous sting operations, they walked into an establishment rumored to be rife with corruption, armed with nothing more than a hidden camera. This time, the establishment was the Dallas-based offices of the National Urban League, one of the grant recipients approved to churn out Obamacare navigators.

The undercover Project Veritas investigator gave the NUL employees a cooked up story: that he was having trouble completing an application online at Healthcare.gov due to website problems (not that far-fetched), and that he had an undeclared, all-cash side business.

Several of the Obamacare navigators encouraged the investigator to intentionally misstate his income and deceive the IRS in order to receive more Obamacare subsidies:

Don’t get yourself in trouble by declaring it now.

Yeah, it didn’t happen. Never report it.

When discussing filling out health insurance applications, one Obamacare navigator suggested that the investigator lie about his smoking status in order to receive a lower premium:

You lie because your premiums will be higher.

She went a step farther and offered up the following stunning admission about how she fills out her own applications:

I always lie on mine.

Nov. 13, 2013 – According to Project Veritas, one person at the Urban League of Greater Dallas has been fired and three others have been suspended following the release of the video. Additionally, this is just the first video in a series of other Obamacare investigations to be released in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more.
