Forget about the glitches, forget about the low enrollment numbers, but most importantly, forget about the price tag.
That last sentiment is the main message behind the Grand Prize-winning entry in the “Healthy Young America Video Contest,” put on by the Department of Health and Human Services. The goal of the creepy-sounding contest is to “mobilize young people to help educate and inform one another about the Affordable Care Act.” That doesn’t seem frightening at all.
To goad youngsters into creating pro-Obamacare propaganda for them, HHS has put up a total purse of $30,000 in cash prizes. Erin McDonald took home $2,000 for her absolutely awful rendering of “Forget About the Price Tag,” a reworking of the Jessie J song “Price Tag.”
McDonald’s version includes such classic lyrics as:
Ain’t about the, uh, cha-ching cha-ching
Ain’t about the, yeah, bling bla-bling
Affordable Care Act — Don’t worry about the price tag
The video is below. After watching it, you will wish you could forget about “Forget About the Price Tag.”
