President Obama Keeps Learning About His Scandals on the News

Imagine that you’re the President of the United States. We’re not sure how you got elected, but here you are. We’re not sure how he got elected either.

Now imagine that, as the President, a huge scandal affecting your entire administration has just broken.

Imagine that you are now giving a press conference, during which a reporter asks you, “Sir/Madam President, when did you first hear about this scandal?”

Imagine that you reply to this reporter, “I heard about it when everyone else did: on the news.”

That would be ridiculous, yes? I mean, you would never say that as the President. Right?

Now imagine that our real, actual President – President Barack Obama – gets asked about a scandal affecting his administration, and he responds in a similar way: that he heard about it first on the news.

Actually, we don’t have to imagine this at all because HE AND HIS STAFF HAVE SAID THIS VERY THING NUMEROUS TIMES.

That’s right, if there is a scandal a-brewin’, there is no way that the President of the United States – the most powerful man in the world – could ever learn about it before it broke publicly. He would have to hear about it for the very first time while curled up on the sofa watching MSNBC.

Here are a few examples of scandals currently hanging over this President:

• The VA hospital scandal
• Fast and Furious
• The IRS scandal

In each of these cases, President Obama and his administration have said that they initially heard word one about these scandals while watching Brian Williams. Or Anderson Cooper. Or Ed Schultz.

Ok, no one is watching Ed Schultz.

But we are expected to believe that the White House is now relying on the news media to be their primary source of intelligence. Well, that’s good. We can close down the NSA, the CIA, the FBI, DHS, the ATF, the IRS, and the State Department. I mean, if they’re not being used…
