Glenn Beck has said it on several occasions: “There is something seriously wrong with Harry Reid.”
Or, seriously “Wong” in this case.
While addressing the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce yesterday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid decided to deviate from his prepared remarks a bit and flex his improv comedy muscles. The Nevada Senator proceeded to crack wise with the best material for the occasion:
Asian jokes.
Reid’s first zinger of the event was:
The Asian population is so productive. I don’t think you’re smarter than anybody else, but you’ve convinced a lot of us you are.
Man, I bet that one kills at the Reid family dinner table.
Then, the senile Senator regaled the crowd with this well-crafted, culturally sensitive quip:
One problem that I’ve had today is keeping my Wongs straight.
This guy needs his own HBO comedy special.
Now, if you feel that Harry Reid crossed the line and that he should lose his job over this incident, you need only realize that Reid is a Democrat, and that Democrats are immune to racial gaffes that would be career-ending for any Republican.
Reid was, however, forced to apologize for his remarks, and issued the following statement: “My comments were in extremely poor taste and I apologize. Sometimes I say the wrong thing.”
Or the “Wong” thing.
