On Labor Day, Vice President Joe Biden visited Detroit, Michigan, and addressed an assembly of trade workers and unionists prior to the city’s annual Labor Day parade.
In his speech, Biden referenced such hot-button issues as income inequality and corporate greed, topics which likely hit home with the largely blue collar crowd.
During the climax of his address, the Vice President used a certain phrase which was intended evoke emotion in the audience. Biden said:
So folks, it’s time to take back America, as we say. It’s time to change the tax code. It’s time to make sure you get equal share.
Interestingly, the tagline “take back America” and similar phraseology had been deemed as “racist” in the past by leftwing media pundits when it had been uttered by Tea Party candidates and activists.
However, when expressed by a top dog Democrat like Joe Biden, this “racist” rhetoric is completely ignored by the media, and the Vice President receives a full pass.
The party of fairness and tolerance proves once again that things are only fair when you play by their rules, and tolerance ends at the party line.
