Poor Bernie Sanders.
The Vermont Senator is the only self-avowed socialist in Congress. Naturally, the VA scandal is hitting him particularly hard because it undermines his entire argument that government-provided health care is the duck’s guts.
Over the last few weeks, Sen. Sanders has been in full-on damage control mode, appearing in Congressional committees and in television interviews desperately trying to spin the VA hospital disaster into a positive.
Needless to say, Sanders has struggled a bit in this endeavor. Take a look:
