On Wednesday’s episode of The Daily Show, host Jon Stewart brought a little humor to the chaos and turmoil that is sweeping the globe.
During a segment of the show entitled “Crisis in the Everywhere,” Stewart took a few jabs at world leaders and their handling of various regional crises.
First, he started with Benjamin Netanyahu and mocked him for Israel’s recent annexation of Palestinian farmland, commenting on the “chutzpah” necessary for Netanyahu to pull off this landgrab.
Next, Stewart poked fun at Russian President Vladimir Putin, who recently sent Russian military forces into neighboring Ukraine, and then flat-out denied doing so despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
Lastly, and perhaps most enjoyably, Stewart took a few swings at President Obama and his absolutely bizarre, lukewarm response to Putin’s latest incursions into Ukraine.
Stewart played a clip of very subdued Obama giving a statement on Russian troop movements across the Ukrainian border. He mocked the President for his slow, passionless delivery, accusing him of trying to “run out the clock” on his presidency.
All in all, good stuff. Check out the video here:
